Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, firmly dismissed the claims made by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf
(PTI) party that the government had proposed transferring former Prime Minister Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Bani Gala or placing him under house arrest. Speaking at an event in Sialkot on Saturday, Asif called these accusations “baseless” and clarified that no such proposal had been made.

He emphasized that decisions regarding Khan’s detention and relocation were solely in the hands of the judiciary, and the government had no role in these matters. Asif further criticized PTI, accusing the party of fabricating false narratives to gain political advantage and mislead the public.

According to the Defence Minister, Imran Khan’s fate is to be determined by the courts, and he distanced himself from any involvement in judicial decisions, stating, “I am not a fortune-teller” to predict the future of the case. This statement followed ongoing tensions between the government and PTI amidst Khan’s legal battles.
